Need help quick (MS 69 eagles)
Ok Just got an offer and I'm new to numismatics. Just got offered 1994 silver eagles MS 69 for $38.50 each. They are said to be listed at $150 each. Is this a good deal? (should I jump at it?)

Re: Need help quick (MS 69 eagles)
just did a quick search on ebay..........lots of buy it now auctions for almost "book" price....no buyers.....
non first strike ms 69's had bids between 10 and 20 something dollars with less than a day to go i dunno.........if you can find a buyer, then it's a good deal. If not? ??????????? |
Re: Need help quick (MS 69 eagles)
Who graded them? Makes a big difference.
PCGS - yes, this is a good buy. NGC - about right, but not a good deal anyone else - forget it, buy raw. |
Re: Need help quick (MS 69 eagles)
Are they proof or uncirculated?
|
Re: Need help quick (MS 69 eagles)
They are PCGS.
shit, I don't know if they are proof or uncirculated. I figuered MS69 was proof. If they are uncirculated are they still a good deal? |
Re: Need help quick (MS 69 eagles)
I should have mentioned, I plan to sell them right away. Will I have a problem selling them if my local shop is already overstocked or anything?

Re: Need help quick (MS 69 eagles)
They are not proofs. They are Mint Strike - or business strike.
As in MS...... They are one of the key coins for a full registry set for these coins. There are fewer MS69 for this year to be found. 38.50 per is a good price. I would get a few and hang on to them to resell at a later date via ebay. |
Re: Need help quick (MS 69 eagles)
I'm not sure what to do. Its not encouraging there are no buyers on ebay. Maybe i'll just let it go...its usually against my rules to invest in something I don't know about (at the same time I hate to pass up an easy profit). :banghead:
BTW, if anyone did any of those intro deals a while back, you may get this call to. :call: If the guy calls back i'll pick up a few, otherwise i'll just forget it. Thanks everyone. |
Re: Need help quick (MS 69 eagles)
Just went to ebay to do my own search.
Noticed that most 1994 ms69 eagles being auctioned are "First strike" and they are asking for stupid money. That is a story all to itself. I would not buy first strikes older than 2005, the first year PCGS marked them as such. Notice that most coins listed ARE NOT EAGLES - they are commems...... do your own search, use completed items option. I see that a regular ms69 1994 pcgs eagle will sell for around 70.00 and up. I still think 38.50 is a good price. |
Re: Need help quick (MS 69 eagles)
Call a few coin dealers and ask what they will pay you for a couple.
Most Eagles fresh from rolls are MS 69-70. Best thing is if you do not know what you are doing, stay away. glta |
